Indications
Semaglutide oral tablet is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist indicated for:

Type 2 diabetes :
As an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control. -
Cardiovascular disease risk reduction (indications vary by region):
Reducing the risk of serious adverse events related to cardiovascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Mechanism of action
Semaglutide mimics the effects of GLP-1 hormone, increasing insulin secretion, decreasing glucagon secretion, and slowing gastric emptying, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
Dosage
- Initial dose : 3 mg once daily for 4 weeks to help you get used to the drug.
- Maintenance dose : May be increased to 7 mg or 14 mg daily based on patient tolerance and treatment goals.

Directions :
- Take daily on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes after waking up) with water (up to 120 ml).
- Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.
- Wait at least 30 minutes after taking this medicine before eating, drinking, or taking other medicines.

- Common side effects : nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, constipation, abdominal pain, etc.

Contraindications

Storage conditions
