【Indications】

REVLIMID is a prescription medicine used to treat people with:

• People with multiple myeloma (MM) who have received at least one previous medication taken with dexamethasone.

• People with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). REVLIMID is for a type of MDS with a chromosome problem where part of chromosome 5 is missing. This type of MDS is called deletion 5q MDS. People with this type of MDS may have low red blood cell counts and need blood transfusions.

• Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), when the disease has not responded to or has come back after two prior treatments, one of which included bortezomib. Mantle cell lymphoma is a cancer of a type of white blood cells called lymphocytes in the lymph nodes.

It is not known if REVLIMID is safe and effective in people younger than 18 years of age.

 

【Recommended dose】

Before prescribing REVLIMID, your healthcare provider will:

• Swallow REVLIMID capsules whole with water once daily. Do not break, chew, or open the capsules.

• Take REVLIMID at about the same time every day.

• Do not open REVLIMID capsules or handle them unnecessarily. If you touch a broken REVLIMID capsule or the medicine inside the capsule, wash the area with soap and water.

• If you miss a dose of REVLIMID and it has been less than 12 hours since your normal dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it has been more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose. Do not take 2 doses at the same time.

• Call your healthcare provider right away if you take too much REVLIMID or if you get an overdose.

 

【side effect】

•Severe skin reactions. Severe skin reactions may occur with REVLIMID and may lead to death. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any skin reactions while taking REVLIMID.

•Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS). TLS is caused by the rapid breakdown of cancer cells. TLS can lead to kidney failure, the need for dialysis, abnormal heart rhythms, seizures, and sometimes death. Your healthcare provider may do blood tests to check for TLS.

Severe liver problems, including liver failure and death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of liver problems:

• Yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes (jaundice) • Dark or brown (tea-colored) urine • Pain in the upper right side of the stomach (abdomen)

• Bleeding or bruising more easily than usual • Feeling very tired

During your treatment with REVLIMID, your healthcare provider will do blood tests to check your liver function.

•Risk of new cancers (malignancies). People with multiple myeloma who receive melphalan (a type of chemotherapy) and a blood stem cell transplant plus REVLIMID have a higher risk of developing new cancers, including certain blood cancers (acute myeloid leukemia or AML) and a type of lymphoma called Hodgkin lymphoma. Talk to your healthcare provider if you take Your risk of developing a new cancer while taking REVLIMID . Your healthcare provider will check you for new cancers during your treatment with REVLIMID .

Common side effects of REVLIMID include:

Diarrhea and itching

Rash Tiredness

These may not be all the side effects of lenalidomide.
