Introduction: The U.S. FDA has accelerated the approval of mobotinib for the treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose disease has progressed during or after platinum-containing chemotherapy.

【Indications】

MOBDX is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC):

• has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) and cannot be removed by surgery, and

• have an abnormality in the EGFR gene, and

• Feeling unwell during or after platinum-based chemotherapy

Your healthcare provider will do testing to make sure MOBDX is right for you.

There is still debate as to whether MOBDX is safe and effective in children.

 

【Recommended dose】

•You take MOBDX exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to.

•Take the prescribed dose of MOBDX once daily.

• MOBDX with meals or a separate hired nurse.

•Swallow MOBDX capsules whole. Do not open, chew, or dissolve the contents of the capsule.

•Do not change your dose or stop taking MOBDX unless your healthcare provider tells you to.

•If you get certain side effects, your healthcare provider may change your dose, temporarily stop, or permanently stop treatment with MOBDX.

•If you miss a dose of MOBDX and it has been more than 6 hours, skip that dose and take your next dose at the regular time the next day.

• If you vomit one medicine, MOBDX, do not take an extra dose. Take your next medicine the next day at your regularly scheduled time.

 

【Included】

Lung problems. MOBDX may cause serious lung problems, which may lead to death. Symptoms may be similar to those of lung cancer. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you develop any new or worsening symptoms, including trouble breathing or shortness of breath, cough, chest pain, or fever.

• Heart problems, including heart failure. MOBDX may cause heart problems that can lead to death. Your healthcare provider should check your heart function before you start and during treatment with MOBDX. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any physical signs or symptoms of heart problems, including feeling your heart racing or beating fast, shortness of breath, chest pain, swollen ankles and feet, or feeling faint.

• Diarrhea. Diarrhea is common during treatment with MOBDX and can sometimes be very severe. Diarrhea can cause you to lose too much body fluid (passages) and have kidney problems. Your healthcare provider may tell you to start drinking more fluids and carbohydrates to replace salt in your body or start taking anti-diarrhea medicine. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any loose stools or more frequent stools than normal.

The most common side effects of MOBDX include:

• Diarrhea • Rash • Stomach • Mouth ulcers • Vomiting

• Relieve nail pain • Skin infections around nails • Fatigue and tiredness • Dry skin • Pain from surgery or fractures

MOBDX may affect fertility in both women and men, which could affect your ability to have children. Talk to your healthcare provider if you are concerned about this.
